Trauma Institute

Veterans & First Responders

Veterans · Active Military · Law Enforcement · Fire · EMS

You carried what the job required you to carry. The Trauma Institute was built, in significant part, for you — and for the specific weight that military service and first responder work places on the human nervous system.

Why the Trauma Institute

Dr. Flores completed her doctoral internship at the VA Medical Center in Salisbury, North Carolina. She has worked with veterans and first responders throughout her clinical career. She understands the culture — the identity that comes with service, the resistance to help-seeking, the specific ways that military and first responder trauma presents differently from civilian trauma — and she has spent her career developing approaches that work within that culture rather than against it.

The centerpiece of that work is Image Transformation Therapy (ImTT) — an approach that achieves rapid, durable results for combat PTSD and occupational trauma, without requiring detailed verbal narration of traumatic events.
