Trauma is an emotional response so overwhelming the nervous system cannot process it normally — leaving it vivid, raw, and dangerously close to the present moment.

Dr. Suzana E. Flores, Psy.D. — Clinical Psychologist & Internationally Recognized Expert in Military-Level Trauma and PTSD Treatment. Helping survivors reclaim safe, whole, and meaningful lives.
"What has been broken can become stronger at the fracture — more beautiful for having been mended."
Trauma is not the end of the story. At the Trauma Institute, we believe that healing is not about returning to who you were before — it is about becoming who you are capable of being.
"Trauma is not a character flaw. It is the mark of someone who survived the unsurvivable — and carries the proof in gold."
Dr. Suzana E. Flores is a licensed clinical psychologist with over a decade of specialized expertise in trauma, PTSD, and Complex-PTSD. An internationally recognized authority on military-level trauma, she holds a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Argosy University and a Master of Counseling Psychology from Loyola University Chicago.
